How to keep ur body and mind cool in this horrible summer?
Here are 10 Tips:
1) Stay hydrated- Drink plenty of water 13 to 14 Glasses per day. Dont drink large quantity at a time, drink single glass or sip by sip at a time. Dont drink ice cold water or hot water, try to drink normal water only. Avoid all types of carbonated drinks, alcoholic beverages and also sweety and salt drinks.Minimise tea and coffee consumption.
2)Eat fruits and vegetables that make ur body cool- Fruits like watermelon, Apple, pineapple, peaches,Plums,avocados, oranges and lemons help to hydrate ur body and even mind. Vegetables like cucumber, carrot, green leafy vegetables, green beans,broccoli also keeps you cool.
3)Milk and milk products like butter,yoghurt,ghee will help you to stay cool.
4) Avoid foods that increase ur body heat- Avoid too much spices. Instead of chillies, you can add pepper and ginger.
Avoid taking tomatos,garlic,onion which will increase body heat. Avoid too much salts, which makes you dehydrated.
5) Minimise non- veg consumption especially chicken and chicken egg which will increase body heat.
6) Arrowroot porridge (Koova kurukku), Barley water, malarpori water are good to keep u cool.
7) Eat at the right time:
An important part of keeping cool is to eat your main meal in the middle of the day when your digestive fire is strongest. Skipping meals is also a sure fire way to upset you– notice how cranky you feel when you miss lunch.
8)Exercise with a splash:
If you are working out, do it at the time of the day when nature is most cool. Early morning is best. Second best is early evening.Light exercise is recommended such as yoga, walking and swimming.
9)Dresses that makes u cool:- Choose cotton dresses which is loose and light colored.Avoid unnecessary clothings like over coat,ties,socks, shalls etc.Can take frequent baths with normal temperature water.If u can't bath,wash ur face,hands and feet which will cool u for sometime.If u use any cosmetics,moisturisers or sunscreen lotions refrigerate it before using which will help to get a cooling effect.
10)Tips to cool down the temperature of the mind:-
Balance the intensity of the heat with less intensity in your work. Build in time for play. Ease back and make some time for fun.
As is the mind, so is the body. The most powerful way to settle down the mind is to build in some regular time for meditation each day. However there are many other ways to turn down the dial on that busy, frazzled mind. Listen to some beautiful music, take a walk in nature or practice some conscious breathing to soothe your soul.
